Albuquerque Senior Care We Recommend
Care That Started With a Family’s Own Story
When Darlene Wood’s family needed help caring for someone they loved, she experienced firsthand just how much the right care team can mean. Today, that experience helps drive her mission at Always Best Care of Albuquerque & Rio Rancho.
Before She Was an Owner, She Was Family
Before She Was a Franchise Owner, She Was a Family Member Who Needed Help
In 2012, Darlene Wood’s brother was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Like countless families in Albuquerque, Darlene suddenly found herself seeing caregiving from a completely different perspective—not as an industry, but as something deeply personal.
During her brother’s illness, a home-care team helped support him and the family members walking alongside him. The experience left a lasting impression.
Darlene saw that great care isn’t simply about completing a list of tasks.
It’s about supporting an entire family through a season they may never have been prepared to navigate.
That experience ultimately helped inspire Darlene to become involved in senior care herself.
A Local Owner, Not Just a National Brand
When you invite someone into your home to care for your mother, father, spouse or another person you love, the logo on the caregiver’s shirt isn’t the only thing that matters.
Leadership matters.
That’s one reason FaithTuned Alliance recommends getting to know the person behind the Albuquerque organization.
Darlene isn’t simply managing a territory from somewhere else. She’s a New Mexico resident, UNM graduate, former teacher and local business owner whose own family experience helped lead her into senior care.
